    Central Alabama Gun Club - Montgomery

    The Central Alabama Gun Club is located 14 miles east of Montgomery. Their shooting range houses 14 pistol bays, 100 and 300-yard rifle ranges, a falling pistol bay, and an archery range. Their facilities also include an air-conditioned clubhouse along with 4 restrooms. 

    The CAGC offers gun training but they are mostly known for their gun-related challenges and matches. They hold public matches from known organizations such as the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) and the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA). 

    What’s great about their matches is that they are open to the public. There is no membership required to participate. It doesn’t matter if you're a first-timer or a veteran, you can join in any of their matches. 

    F.O.P Range Inc. - Pleasant Grove    

    The F.O.P Shooting Range is a family-oriented range near Birmingham. It houses 7 outdoor ranges with a covered shooter’s area up-range. It also has a steel plate range with 120+ plates and a 22 Rimfire range with wall to wall plate racks. 

    They sell ammunition for a cheap price for more time in the shooting range. They also provide training. The training range is free for anyone in the Law Enforcement agency. 

    They also provide online gun purchase and FFL service for as low as $20. What makes F.O.P stand out is their giant traffic light that informs shooters of the proper range condition. 

    East Alabama Gun Club - Phenix

    East Alabama is a membership-only shooting range just outside Phenix City. They have:

    • 18 pistol ranges with covered firing areas
    • 50-yard small bore range which can also be used as a training bay or pistol bay
    • 2 100-yard high-power rifle ranges with covered firing areas
    • 300-yard high-power rifle range with covered firing areas
    • 3D archery range in a natural wooded area
    • 3 steel plate pistol bays with covered firing areas

    East Alabama Gun Club also has a prone platform and steel targets for the 300-yard range. Their facilities also include grills and picnic areas, playground area, and a range pro shop, where you can buy gun essential things like a reloading press and more. It’s great for spending some quality time with the family and doing your hobby.

    Larry’s Pistol and Pawn - Madison

    Larry’s Pistol and Pawn offers a modern indoor shooting range in Madison County. You need to be at least 19 years old to shoot on the indoor range. If you’re with a minor, they can shoot for free provided you paid and are a responsible guardian. They also rent out firearms but only for 21 years old and above. 

    They also have staff on standby ready to assist you if it’s your first time learning firearms. They give out free pass every Tuesday to all active and retired military, law enforcement, and emergency personnel. The fee you pay also comes with eye and hearing protection and also a first target (additional targets can be purchased through the Range Master). 

    Alabama Precision - Birmingham

    The Alabama Precision offers a natural Alabama terrain for competitive shooting. If you’re a veteran marksman who is looking for a challenge, the Alabama Precision is your place. They offer competitions and challenges like the Alabama Precision Rifle Challenge and their one-day event called “Shooter’s Challenge”. 

    Don’t worry if you’re still an amateur. They welcome new shooters who can learn from the experienced shooters. 

    Sand Mountain Shooter’s Club - Boaz

    The Sand Mountain Shooter’s Club offers an outdoor shooting range near the Appalachian foothills. It’s also open to the public but on Saturday only. 

    They offer a shooting range for rifles with covered shooting benches, sandbag rests, spotting scopes on rifles, target stands, and backstops at 25, 50, and 100-yards. They allow shotguns in their rifle range at 25 and 50-yards if you’re thinking of bringing one. They also have a shooting range for handguns.

    The Hoover Tactical Firearms has been in business since 2009. They offer 20 lanes of indoor shooting available to the public. They have 12 lanes of pistol range at 25 yards. 

    The station has light, bench rest, and a motorized target hanging system. Their rifle range has 8 lanes at 50 yards. It also comes with light, bench rest, and motorized target hanging system. 

    You need to wear ear and eye protection at all times when you’re in the shooting range. They also offer 3D archery and gunsmithing. They also have great paper targets to choose from silhouettes to zombies. 

    Rockford Gun Club - Rockford

    Rockford Gun Club boasts a 1,000-yard rifle range with natural terrain, long-range rifle setups, traditional “square range” style rifle, and handgun shooting. Targets are placed at 900 and 1,000 yards and there are benches and prone shooting on the shooting bays. 

    They have a covered 100-yard sight-in range that also has a bench and prone shooting. If you want more of the realistic stuff, they offer a natural terrain with unknown targets from 100 to 700 yards. It comes with different shooting positions and platforms.     Greenridge Shooting Range - Cleveland

    Greenridge Shooting Range is Cook’s family-owned shooting range. Billy and Debra Cook both enjoy hunting and couldn’t find a shooting range near their area so they decided to make one. 

    They offer outdoor shooting with a 200 and 100-yard covered rifle range and a 25-yard covered pistol range. They are NRA certified instruction and offer classes from beginner handgun classes to advanced classes for tactical and personal protection. 

    They’re open 7 days a week to members and open to the public on Saturday and Sunday.  

    Warrior Ranch Training Center - Brookwind

    Warrior Ranch is a small arms training and resource center with 20 years of military experience. They offer 600-yard rifle range (with steel and paper targets), 15-yard pistol range (with paper targets), 50-yard pistol range (with steel and paper targets), and a Skeet field which can only be used for special event reservations. 

    They have NRA-certified range safety officers and support personnel for all ranges. They offer certification school for gun users of all levels and also offer home defense preparation like Personal Protection Inside the Home (PPIH).
